    Good evening

First of all, thank you for this fantastic plugin. It comes with all the features I need and a lot more 🙂

Nevertheless I have encountered a little problem…… I use the Responsive theme, and have put two widgets (the search widget and the album widget) in a sidebar. Everything works fine except, that when you search and find a particular photo, the links in the album-widget below the searchwidget stops linking to their respective subalbums.

If you dont search, there is no problem, and you can skip and jump betwwen the subalbums….

You can se the page here, and try it for yourself. Search for the number “195” and you will get a hit.

Looking forward to here from you.

Although i can not reproduce this problem, i found a location in the code that could be de cause of it, and fixed it, so, please update to 5.1.17 when it is released ( today or tomorrow ) and tell me if its fixed.

    Hi opajaap

Thank you for your quick respond. I have updated WPPA plus.

Appearantly it solved my problem 🙂

I also discovered, (before the update) that if i switched the order of the widgets in question, the problem was solved. But now, thanks to your update I can use the widgets either way.

Thanks again for a great plugin.

    Hello Again

If I may ask you Again, a similar question, concerning my use of the widgets…..

I have two album-widgets in the same sidebar, pointing to two different parent albums.

In one album I have the Danish sub-albums and in the other I have the german subalbums. Nevertheless, when I click the links in the “german” widget, I end op in the “Danish” page. I have tried using the built-in link-options in your fine plugin, but I can’t make it Work….. One widget acts as it should, the other widget does not. Instead of staying within the parent-album and “siblings” it takes me to another parentalbum…..

You can see for yourself here: http://lyngsoe.dk.linux81.curanetserver.dk/bildgallerie/

Try clicking one of the miniature-albums, and you will end up in the other parent-album….

What am I doing wrong ?

The links work correct, but you can have only one page to link to from the album widget ( Table VI-A3 ).
Why not use qTranslate for multi language? It is fully capable to handle multiple languages on one page.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have installed qTranslate, but I am having problems achieving my goal…… I maybe should have explained my task instead.

I am trying to get the german page to show all five subalbums in one parentalbum. Right now the album widget for some reason only shows two ??? Then it should be possible to click an album, and see the content on the page (which is in both german and Danish thanks to qTranslate)Every time I click on a german subalbum it takes me straight to the Danish parentalbum ??

The Danish parentalbum (album widget) however is only showing 4 out of 8 subalbums and I can not figure out why.

How do I achieve this goal: In the german page I would like to display all subalbums in one parentalbum. There also needs to be a search-function.

In the Danish site I would like to display the subalbum of the other parentalbum and also have a search-function.

Do you reccomend me using shortcodes instead of the widgets or ??

I am still very excited about this plugin and I hope to make it work as I need to.

    Thanks in advance

When using qTranslate, you do not need different albums for danish and german.
You can name multilingual and make descriptions also multilingual:

    Example:

    Name/dscription of photo/album:

[:ge]The German name or description[:dk]The Danish name or description

As easy as it can be.

If you need different shortcodes in the page:
    <!--:ge-->[German shortcode]<!--:--><!--:dk-->[Danish shortcode]<!--:-->

Thank you for your quick response. I may be a little slow, but I dont follow……

Do I add f.i.[:dk] as a shortcode in the album-description in the album in question ? There is no option to select language in the WPPA-admin. I tried what you suggested, but the complete line ([:ge]The German name or description[:dk]The Danish name or description) is now written under the Photo.

And how about the album-widget. It still does not show all subalbums:-( I tried to remove the second album-widget, but it made no difference.

Assuming you have qTranslate active, and dk and ge are the language codes you have activated in qTranslate settings (!) you will see the right text when the language is selected ( in the qTranslate language choose widget )

[:dk] and [:ge] are ‘shorthand’ language codes and need no ending.
<!--:dk--> and <!--:ge--> are ‘normal’ language codes and need to be closed by <!--:-->.
If the first method will not work, try the second. Just enter it in the name and description fields.

Ok, now Im getting somewhere. The languagecodes are de and da 🙂 And the shorthand is working. So far, so good.

My album-widget still shows only 4 subalbums, even though the limit should be ten according to settings. Any ideas on that ?

    Hi opajaap

I now have figured out, what my problem was, and my widget shows the subalbums that I wish. I have all subalbums in one parentalbum and I am using qTranslate for the german part.

That leaves me with one last question.

I would like to exclude some of the Pictures/subalbums in the german view…. is that at all possible ? You see, some of the products in the photos are only availible in Denmark….

Thanx for your patience and reply’s.

    Regards

Say you have 4 albums, with ids: 1,2 6 and 8
You want to show them all in danish, but only 1,2 and 8 in german.

With qtranslate you can select a tab in the page/post editor for the desired language.

In the Danish tab enter shortcode:

    [wppa type="cover" album="1.2.6.8"][/wppa]

    in the German tab enter:

    [wppa type="cover" album="1.2.8"][/wppa]

For more information on shortcode specs read: http://wppa.opajaap.nl/shortcode-reference/
