   I installed Akismet a week or two ago because I was getting flooded with spam. So far, so good. The spam problem has stopped, and it says Akismet has caught 32 spams (I would have expected a lot more).

   I thought I was supposed to be able to check the spam queue to make sure no real comments got deleted, but my queue is always empty. Where are those comments going? I have the SpamViewer plug-in installed, and that is empty, too. Should I assume the comments are being immediately deleted? I would appreciate any ideas about this.

   Or maybe I'm just being dumb and Akismet auto-deletes things it knows are definitely spam, so I shouldn't worry about this?

   admin > Dashboard > Comments?
   You should have something like "Akismet Spam (1929)" <-- click on it.

   Yes, I do, but it always says 0. Today I tried unchecking the option to have spam deleted after a month, and now spam is showing up in the queue, so it looks like it's been getting deleted immediately instead of after a month.
