I've been using the extremely useful Contact Form 7 plugin for 6 months now. And been using Akismet very sucessfully to block spam, as per this article for 3 months.

Though, suddenly, last night lots of spam messages are now arriving.
I'm using:
Akismet Version 2.5.3
Contact Form 7 Version 2.4.2
I've tested the forms by using 'viagra-test-123' in name field, as per
http://akismet.com/development/api/#comment-check. It was successfully blocked.
Nothing else has changed that I know about...so, I'm a bit stuck really.
Wondered if anyone had any ideas? thx

Sometimes Akismet server gets out of condition temporary. Don't care too much if it's working now.

thanks Takayuki, I've been looking at other forum threads. And was hoping not to have to use CAPTCHA.
There is a suggestion to use:

Anyone tried using the Bad Behaviour plugin with CF7?

Can you provide any details on akismet.com not being available? I think you'll find that the uptime for our API is very good - http://status.automattic.com/9931/136079/Akismet-API

I've been having huge problems with Contact Form 7's spam filtering, or lack thereof, recently. I've been using both CAPTCHA and Akismet, but have consistently continued to receive floods of spam messages through the system. I've now had to switch to a new contact form system.
