Akismet fatal error (3 posts)

I have a website, http://www.anamericaninmexico.com, that has been working just fine with Akismet vs 2.5.1. Now, when I try to reach my dashboard, I get this message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function akismet_server_connectivity_ok() in /home7/susanls1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/akismet/admin.php on line 268

I don't think I've changed anything so I don't know what I may have done to get this fatal error. I called my host, Bluehost.com, earlier this week to see if they could do something to fix it. I didn't understand what the tech said he did, but the issue seemed to be resolved. It worked for a few days and now I'm back with the same error message.

I don't understand anything about coding, and don't know what "admin.php" is but when I found it and took a look, the lines aren't numbered, so finding line 268 - even if I knew what to do with it - would be close to impossible.

    Thank you for your help,

    Susan

Can you try installing a fresh copy of the plugin.

if you are unhappy about using FTP you can deactivate and delete and then reinstall via the plugins page - you will however lose your settings.

I'd recommend re-installing version 2.5.1 of the Akismet plugin, that should take care of this issue.
