Akismet API key invalid

    I’m trying to install the Akismet plugin, but when asked to enter the API key it tells me it’s invalid. Does anyone have an idea why? I get the key by following the link ‘Get your key’…

    Has anyone found an answer for this? I signed up for a new account, received my key but when I enter it, it tells me that it is invalid.

    I am having this problem too. I went to the Akismet website and the FAQ said that this can be a problem from cut and paste, but I still had the same proble typing the API in direct.

    Also checked if my host allows outgoing link for the akismet/wp.org sites and that is fine too.

    Can anyone tell me why Akismet is telling me that my API is invalid?

    Anyone got any ideas? This problem 24 hours old, so I dont think it has anything to do with the fact the account was new and the API wasnt yet recognisable.

    Please help!
