Ajax Event Calendar Issues – couple of things

    Hey folks,

    Wonderful plugin. Took me a little bit to get the grasp of it, but it’s easily the best of the many I looked at and tried yesterday. I have a couple of questions and issues, I hope there’s no strict ‘one issue per thread’ rule here.

    1. When I try to delete an event category, I get that white screen where nothing happens that i saw a few other threads about when they try to add a category. I can add them just fine, but I can’t remove or edit them. The screen turns white and nothing happens.. The next page doesn’t load, i have to hit back, and the edit hasn’t been made.

    I switched to Twenty Eleven theme for troubleshooting, and deactivated other plugins, and still got the same result, so I don’t think it’s a conflict there.

    2. Is it possible to remove the “show type” option? I could probably even lost that whole block,, with the various event names and their color codes. Is that possible?

    3. I only need/want my calendar to show up as a monthly calendar . the “week” option doesn’t work for me. Is it possible to remove that?

    4. The description text, in the drop down box,shows up aligned right, for some reason. Can I reset that to align left?

    5. Is it possible to add Custom Fields in the options for Events? I would like to add another option for a link like”Book” or “Contact”, etc, with a link to my contact form.

    6. I would like to change “Event Link” to something else, like “View this trip” etc. How do I do that?

    I’ve got the calendar posted on my as yet not really released website/business, but I will post a link to it, with password, if required.

    OK .. I got the ‘delete category’ thing to work .. and ‘update category’ .. some plugin caused the problem, i thought I had deactivated them all, but apparently not. The main thing I really want to do is see how to delete the tab that shows the *Show Type* and so on.

    That and change “Event Link” to “Trip Link” would be awesome.

    Hey Folks,

    Well, after much stabbing at the plugin, I got a few things to work.

    1. deactivating plugins solved this. Then reactivated them and the calendar is working OK, though I can’t update or edit categories unless I deactivate the plugins. I have no idea which plugin is causing the conflict.

    2. This one stumps me. I went to the ajax-event-calendar.php file and changed 'filter_label', 'Show Type' to 'filter_label', 'Trip Categories' on lines 280 and 64. but the calendar stills displays * Show Type * . Ideally, I’d like to lose the asterisks, too, but i have no idea how to do that.

    I don’t see how to remove the option for ‘week’ .. I have this in the shortcode

    [calendar categories="4,5,6,7,8,9" view="month" month="6"]

    so the calendar displays correctly .. but I would like to lose the ‘week’ button/option as well.

    4. I added a small thumbnail to the description drop down box, and the ‘align-right’ text works ok. I see how to do that if i need to, via .description in the css.

    5. No longer an issue.

    6. I managed to change this, thru ajax-event-calendar.php ….. and I thought the same kind of edit would change ‘Show Type” .. but I can’t get that to work.

    So the only thing I really to do now is edit “Show Type”. Any help with that would be much appreciated.

    Ahhh – done .. via the ‘manage categories’ admin in w/p dashboard.

    Marked solved.
