After WP 2.9 Upgrade - Cannot add, edit, or change widgets (3 posts)

I upgraded a site this evening to WP 2.9. At first, couldn't use the automatic upgrade feature (which worked before on this site without any issues), error was given, had to make change in wp-settings.php to increase WP_MEMORY_LIMIT from 32 to 64. After that, automatic upgrade worked fine.

After automatic upgrade, installed a new plugin called Network Publisher and fixed the Simple Tags plugin using fix found in this forum. Everything appeared to work fine.

Went to add a new widget, could "drag and drop" widget into proper area. Deactivated all widgets, reactivated them one by one and checked to make sure they worked. Things were then moving "drag and drop" as usual.

Added a new widget, saved it, then went to front page of site to verify - no new widget showed up. I am now back to where I can't move, add, or delete widgets.

Is anyone else having these issues with the new version? Any solutions or suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi,

    Check with these options:

    - Disable all the plugins and enable it one by one to find out the culprit.
    - Change your theme to default in order to rules out theme level issues.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

Thanks, Shane - for the suggestion. However, I have already done that. After the last plugin was reactivated, everything appeared to be working just fine. Then, when I either refreshed the page, opened the site in a new browser window, etc. - I was not able to add new widgets, update any old ones, or change their order. Nothing.
