Thanks
I checked the file on the server it is there. Downloaded a fresh 2.71 and replaced the file. There is still a problem.
And this works okay on Firefox?

Yes it works fine in firefox, very weird.
Doesn’t happen on another site that uses 2.7 just on 2.71
And you can get to edit, tags and categories with no problem?

Hi
Yes it seems to just be a problem with the add new post and add new page
in IE7
I don’t think it is IE7. Those are normal calls to a URL and the rest of them work fine under Posts and Pages. Also many WP users are using IE7 and don’t have the problem.
If logged out and you and paste the URL in http://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/post-new.php into the browser you should go to the admin page. Does that happen?

No, That doesn’t work,
I have the members only plugin enabled so that only registered users can see the blog. If I paste once I have logged out, I still have to log in to view the page.
Do you think I should disable the members only plugin to check?
Oh yes! You should disable all plugins but that one is probably it.

Thanks for your help. I disabled all plugins and activated them one by one. And the culprit turned out to be podpress.
There is an upgrade for that plugin so I will try that and then try an alternative podcast plugin if it doesn’t work.
Had similar problem with IE7, on finding, one plugin for language found to be the culprit.
Can solve the problem due to u guys…..
Thanks very much for the effort and sharing.
