• I went into a friends webpage, where i had installed wordpress for him.

It said 2.8.1 was ready, and so i upgraded.

After trying to activate all plugins, i got:

Error 500 – Internal server error
An internal server error has occured!
    Please try again later.

So after testing, i went and renamed the forlder Plugins to PluginsDISABLED.

    And it is working again!

Any way to disable the plugins by editing a file or something?

  • Any way to disable the plugins by editing a file? I an no longer accesss WP.

sure ..its called using an FTP client and renaming or deleting the offending plugin directory. this IS still explained at the bottom of wp-admin/plugins.php (I believe)

Already know that, but i did the mistake of enabling them all.

There should be a file or somewhere, where WP has the list of plugins, and if they are enabled or not.

Just found out that after getting to admin panel, it said all plugins where disable because they wherent found!

So, i re-renamed the folder back to “plugins”, and now i’m testing each one.
