From which version of Polylang did you update?
Did you check the Polylang settings ? You should have a checkbox for your portfolio.
From which plugin/theme these portfolio items are coming? Is it freely downloadable?

Update was done from 1.0.4
Yes I have checked settings and there are check box checked for Project and Project categories.
Theme is Clifden 1.6 and it is not freely downloadable.

Is the problem on admin or frontend side?
Have you a link to demonstrate the issue?

Problem is on frontend.
Here is website:
drvoart.ba
It’s in Bosnian, but there is link to English. But unfortunately there are no product shown in this setup. But as soon as I deactivate the Polylang plugin, I get all product on frontend as it should be.

Is the problem only for the widget ‘Latest Products’ shown on frontend (which sows nothing) ? Or is it also for other pages ? They show only the title with no content: is that normal?
Are you using the same version of the theme with both Polylang 1.0.4 and 1.1?
Have you access to errors logged on your server?
Just to be sure. Did you check on admin side that your products have a language assigned to them?

Problem is for widget and for pages as well. You can check now how it looks like in just in local language.
I have done update of theme and plugin at a same time. That might be something.
No I haven’t checked error on server.
Yes, I have products assigned to both languages.

It’s rather annoying because, between 1.0.4 and 1.1, I did only very minor changes (which should not affect post types) on the function which filters the content. Could you check that the issue is not coming from your theme update?
I don’t believe it will change something, but just in case, could you add this in your wp-config.php (*above* /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
)
define('PLL_AUTO_TRANSLATE', false);

I’ve rolled back my theme installation to previous version as it was, and unfortunately there are no products still.
I’ve also added this line of code you suggested but as you said nothing changed.
Could you provide me with v1.0.4 of your plugin so that I could check it with this new version of my theme to see if it’s going to work?
I have couple more sites with your plugin installed, and I’m afraid to do any updates at the moment.

All versions of Polylang are available:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/polylang/developers/
You will have to check your menus (and also your widgets if some are displayed for only one language).
Are you able to go on testing on a test site to find the issue?

I’ve just installed 1.0.4 version and it works fine.
I’m not sure about my other sites, but I will check it in following days and give you feedback about it.
I’m glad to help in anyway I can.

Without the source of your theme, I am blind…
Could you first check that your theme php code is under the GPL license and so that you can share it?
In your theme directory you should have somewhere a file called tpl-portfolio.php. Could you share the code? Not here due to forum policies, but for example on pastebin.com.

OK. Let’s start the hunt. According to that code, you may have a file called ‘inc/loop/loop-portfolio.php’. Could you share it? I don’t need the one above anymore.

The next won’t be so easy to find. We are looking for something like this:
add_shortcode('projects', 'some_function');
could be also:
add_shortcode('projects', array(&$this, 'some_function'));
Once we have found the add_shortcode('projects' ...
We have to find the corresponding function definition, something like:
function some_function
and look at the code inside this function.
The problem is that it could be in any file in your theme… To do such operation, I use grep on Linux. It seems that it is available on Mac and that there is are some equivalent on Windows such as findstr or wingrep
