After changing domain/host, blog has vanished

I have had my own wordpress blog for a couple of years now… hosting it on my own domain- but I am relatively inexperienced with all of this, still.

I recently transferred my domain to godaddy- and created a new website along with it. Unfortunately, I can’t find my blog anymore. Its address just goes directly to my regular website- I can’t even login to my dashboard anymore – because THAT page also goes directly to my website. I’m not sure where to even begin- and I don’t know if I need to start here, godaddy, or the place that I created the website… (wix.com)

I guess if anyone has an idea and can point me in the right direction- that would be greatly appreciated…

I’m having this same problem, Jamie. I’ve contacted Wix support, so we’ll see what they say. I’ve also found this:

Although it hasn’t been much help to me so far.

GoDaddy has my domain name, but I believe Wix is now actually hosting my site. My blog’s address USED to be http://www.christacannon.com/cannonfodder but now it goes to wix, where it tells me that site doesn’t exist.

I know it’s because my WP blog was actually installed at my domain, but I’m absolutely lost at this point…

Did you change your DNS at the registrar of the domian name as that needs be changed to point to right server where your host account is.

The host suppose to give the DNS address where your server is located.

I did change that, but only for my website…not for the blog, as well. I hadn’t realized I’d had the WP downloaded to my domain.

Do you mean I’ll also need to change the DNS for http://www.christacannon.com/cannonfodder?

Your domian name is working http://www.christacannon.com/ take me your website but http://www.christacannon.com/cannonfodder
give error are sure you have wordpress in that folder.

No, not anymore. It used to be, but when I changed my hosting to wix, it screwed everything up. Because I downloaded WP to my site/domain, and not separately from my website…

Since your domain name is working all you will need to do is upload wordpress in folder and if you have backup database to just restore the database and use that in wp-config.php and install.

How do I find my backup database? I’m not able to even log in to my WP blog at all.

Did you back up your database from Go Daddy before you moved to Wix

Uhhhh…that would be a negative.

I’m still waiting to hear back from Wix–hopefully they’ll be able to help.

You could ask Go Daddy if they can give a backup of your database if they have it.

I am a user of the Daily Telegraph blog.
Can you sort out the edit function.
Why won’ wordpressgive a contact email?
Ridiculous.
