The Events Calendar
[resolved] After 3.0 upgrade, Link to Existing Content feature not working (18 posts)

Strange issue. I upgraded to 3.0 the other day (also running WP 3.5.2) and, whenever The Events Calendar is active I can no longer use the Link to Existing Content feature in the WP Post Editor. It won't even give me a list of the content on the site. Just a message that says "no matches found".

I'm also running the latest version of TinyMCE Advanced. I wouldn't think there would be a conflict there but I wanted to mention it just in case.

I have a very similar issue. I can see my events listed in the Existing Content, but it is no longer listing any other content such as Pages or Posts.

I am not running TinyMCE Advanced, but I am running a shed load of other plugins :)

Same here. In fact, I am unable to use the "Insert/Edit link" feature at all. When I try to enter and save the destination URL, the entire Events Editor window shuts down and returns me to the Dashboard, without saving changes. Also noticed that in Text mode I don't have an editing toolbar, only in Visual mode.

The odd thing is that when I first installed the plugin a few days ago (v 3.0) everything worked fine. A couple days later I had to create a child theme for my site, activated that, and now the Events Editor is behaving strangely.

The two seem to be related because I initially installed and tested the plugin on a development site of mine that does NOT use a child theme—the plugin worked then and is still working correctly now, i.e. I have an editing toolbar in both View and Text mode, I am able to Insert/Edit links, and also see Existing Content.

Ok, well, I updated to 3.0.1 and the problem is still there. The fix must not have been in this update.

    Hi guys,

No the fix did not make it in 3.0.1 but should make it into the next release. Hang tight!

    Hello,
I confirm I have the same issue.
I have installed the Event calendar 3.
This is actually the only extension installed.
When doing a simple link, I can only link to other events since the only posts I see are the ones tagged 'event'.
I am desperately waiting for a fix!
    Thank you
    CR

Having this same problem in WP 3.7.1 with all plugins updated to most recent version. Does TinyMCE Advanced disable this feature?

    Hi asterix:

I'm not sure if TinyMCE Advanced disables this - but what I can say is that with The Events Calendar 3.2 and WordPress 3.7.1 this isn't a problem I can replicate, so it's quite possible you are experiencing a conflict of some kind.

This is a fairly old thread marked resolved some 2 months ago, however, so we'd ask that - as per forum guidelines - you create a fresh thread of your own if you need further help with this.

    Thanks!

    Hi Barry,

After further research I don't think it's a conflict, but rather by design: with the TinyMCE Advanced "Advanced Link" feature enabled, the "existing content" search goes away. Hopefully that will one day be integrated with the Advanced Link features so we can have both!

Ahh, I see. Yes hopefully they can do something there.
