I am pretty new to word press and I am considering putting google ad sense and other advertising on my site. I wanted to know if there are any limitations/ restrictions regarding advertising? If so can someone show me where on the site I can find this information.

As long as you are hosting yourself, then you are only limited by the TOS of your host. If you are talking about a WP blog on wp.com, then that's a different story...see the TOS there.

What figaro said. I would say just make it work seamlessly and conservatively with your layout. I stay away from sites that have text/graphics ads between every other paragraph and those ads that pop-up before I get to read anything - major turn offs :-)
