i have started my own website and would like to have 4 different blogs on my site...i have two questions...first, should i use subdomains (blog.mysite.com) or subdirectories (mysite.com/blog) to organize my blogs? is there any differences? second, should i make a separate database for each blog? or only use one database? whats the difference?
any advice is greatly appreciated!!

This is like asking which ice cream flavor I wanna have today? Chocolate? Vanilla? Both? :)
Subdomains or directories? Most of the times I'd prefer subdomains. But using subdomains, all WP-generated emails (e.g. password reset) will bear wordpress@subdomain.domain.com. To me, that ain't pretty.
Separate databases or not? There won't be much difference.
But then again it all depends on why you want to have 4 different blogs in the first place?

my website has a general theme and i have four blogs of different categories within that theme....i just dont know the difference between having one database or multiple databses and if there are different advantages, or disadvantages
