Hi im wondering if you could point me in the right direction.
Im an artist and im looking for a wordpress theme. I have never used wordpress before but im not unfamiliar with the semi technical stuff, previously have only used HTML based design.
Anyway i have searched and searched but cant find any wordpress themes i think would suite me, im looking for a vector style wordpress theme that emphasizes on social networking aswell as showcasing my works.
somthing like this sort of style crossed with twitter style:

Can't help you I'm sorry Ross as I have a similar problem and hope that someone can offer good advice on the best (and simplest to install) theme that will enable me to create a slideshow in my header.
The examples you pointed to are quite different in style, so a little difficult to point you to specific themes, but you might want to check the galleries of themes here. Particularly the gallery of portfolio themes might have something.
"premiumwp" is just spruiking their own wares, which is hardly a crime, but they're not the only themeshop out there. Sie does have a point about those two themes being quite different in style though.
Doing a google search on portfolio slider wordpress theme should be able to turn up various options for you regarding showcasing your own works. There are a plethora of social media plugins if the theme you like best doesn't come with those built in.

It was hard finding examples otherwise i wouldnt of posted here i would of just tried to find out what theme my example used.
But i like Vector themes mostly like the monster one i posted, and i posted the other one because i like the clean design with the vector twitter feed.
I would like to clarify that premiumwp is not a theme shop. It is a WordPress themes resource site that aims to showcase and help people easily find quality WordPress themes from all the best theme shops.

Nevertheless, please point to wordpress.org resources and not external sites unless you genuinely have no other alternative.

Thats the first thing i did, and to be honest none of them caught my eye. Most seem to focus on photography simple 1 page slideshows.
Im looking for a little more than that, and im not a photographer and dont have super high res stuff to put on a fullscreen slideshow.
Im looking for just a header slider with maybe a blog part with comments and social networks.
Basically a blog linked with a portfolio.

So why not use that theme?
Any portfolio theme can be customised to use vector-based images, you just have to create the vector images you want. So you don't need to look for a theme that already incorporates vector images.
If you don't want a full width slider for your front page, then don't look at themes with full width sliders. Find a theme with a more modest slider/portfolio system and then create the vector artwork you want (or hire somebody else to do it).
