Hello, I've got a blog over at WordPress.com and am considering to self-hosting. The recommended webhosts on WordPress are all US-based. As I am in UK, should I still choose from one of these or are there UK-based alternatives. I want the transition from WP to self-hosting WP to be as easy as possible as I am not very techy. Thanks!
Also, do I have to move it from wordpress.com to wordpress.org before I choose a host, or once I've chosen a webhost can it just be transferred from wordpress.com to there?
Thanks!

I've a whole stack of WP sites hosted with them. Very rarely have any problems and when I do, their email support is excellent.

No I haven't registered a domain name with wordpres.com - do I need to do that before I move? Thanks again
No, but you DO need a domain :) You can register it with anyone you want.
