Adventure Journal upgrade ro 1.7 has messed with the left side bars (11 posts)

Just upgraded to 1.7 theme and the left hands sidebars (both blog and pages) are now outside the main content div - over on the extreme left of my browesers (FF 2.6 and ie9).

Also the content is very narrow and the right hand sidebars are too far to the left.
    Any idea please?
    Cheers

Somehow the copy of 1.7 being served up by WordPress.org is corrupt (it appears that the server somehow "lost" half the theme files when it repackaged it). While I try to get this sorted out, you can download a working copy of AJ 1.7 here:

Thank you very much for the prompt reply Veraxus.
Popped the zip in and it now works perfectly.

Oops - forget to specify something very important.
The link you sent me to 1.6.2 works perfectly (again).
The version 1.7 in the above link messes up the site again.
    Cheers

    MOTW,

1.7 adds support for custom sidebar widths - so it's possible that the width being calculated is different than what you need.

By default, the system SHOULD use the original 220px width for sidebars... but if they're misbehaving, you can go to Appearance > Theme Options and set the width to whatever you need (the body width will be automatically adjusted to compensate for the sidebar width change).

If you want to give this a shot with 1.7, please let me know if it fixes the problem and I'll add the solution to the FAQ. :-)

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the left bar stays stubbornly outside the "col-main" container.

I have done some investigation and it would seem that in 1.6.2 the div "col-main" inherits the width of #col-3 and #col-main of 100% from the CSS.
In 1.7 the div "col-main" appears to have an HTML fixed width of "style=: 720px;" with Firebug showing the 100% from the CSS as being ingored.

(Looks like the same coding as used in the variable width settings in 1.7 for "col-left" and "col-right")

I have snips of the two Firebug differences (and how the site looks with different widths in 1.7), but don't know where to send them.

    Hope this helps
    Mike

You can shoot me an email at opensource@contextureintl.com with the info. If you can include a link so I can poke around the site myself, that would also be immensely helpful.

1.7.1 is live now, and I can confirm that it isn't corrupt like 1.7 was (for now).

    Thank you V.

Installed 1.7.1 and it looks good and fine and is working.

Thanks for the lovely template by the way.

I'm also having trouble with the width with 1.71. I change the default 220 to any number above that default and the blog column automatically gets shoved down.

Wolfberg, can you provide a URL? I'd like to take a look at the generated code while the layout is broken. I'm working on an update so if there's a custom width bug I missed, I'd like to include a fix in the next update.
