Post Types Order
[resolved] Advanced Post Types Order - not sorting in front end, only backend (3 posts)

    I got very impressed with the free version so I immediately bought the advanced version for the extra features.

    However, where the free version worked out of the box, I have a problem with that the sorting works fine in the wp-admin but it won't work on the front end for my archive pages or taxanomy pages. I have about two or three custom post types in my theme that I want to be sortable.

    Example: Example page - Places

    The first item should be "Astrid Lindgrens Värld" and not "Stenstugan".

    The grid is built through a normal
    <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
    where I echo out the thumbnails, title and links.

    Have I missed something in the setup of my post type?

    Anyone able to help on this?

    This should work fine, as the Advanced Post Types Order is an extension for the free plugin. Is the auto-sort turned on? Also make sure you makre the re-order within the correct place, archive for global post type ordering or certain term when a taxonomy term objects order is required.
    If you still have problems, you should get in touch through contact at http://www.nsp-code.com for a fast support, someone will take care of this issue for you.

    Thanks

    Auto sort is on everywhere. Sorted in the correct place (main page for my archive), Still no luck with this. Cannot get it to work with have_posts() and the_post().

    However, managed to get sorting in the front-end working somewhat using WP_Query() and specifying

    'orderby'                   => 'menu_order',
    'order' => 'ASC',
    'force_no_custom_order'     => TRUE

    as arguments for the WP_Query(). Is a wee bit annoying as now the pagination won't work as expected and it also gives me trouble with filtering the content according to my custom taxanomy.

    I just wonder what it might be that makes it completely ignore the custom sort order when just grabbing the posts through if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post();?

    The thing is that I bought this one because the free version actually worked on my pages with no code changes.

    Have sent my request onwards on the nsp-code.com page.
