  • Hi mortensh,
Any Role is a part of your system from the moment you create it. If you do not want them to be shown, activate AAM and remove them.

Ok, i have now deleted the roles created by AAM, but still the roles: Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor and Subscriber are still gone and i cant give new users any role.

    Hi mortensh,
I’m assuming you are now familiar with WordPress Roles & Capabilities.
Take your time to read it.

AAM does not create any roles by itself. Either you or other plugins do that. If you deleted Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor & Subscriber with AAM it means that you pretty much deleted any possible access to your admin dashboard. I’m still surprised that you can do anything with your logged in user.

I see now that this problem isnt caused by your plugin, sorry.

Yes, very familiar with the roles & Capabilities in WordPress.
The case is that I installed your AAM plugin on a WordPress 3.8.1 site,
When i went into the AAM access control screen i got the following error message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function has_cap() on a non-object in /home/sitefolder/public_html/wp-content/plugins/advanced-access-manager/application/control/subject.php on line 305

I then deactivated the plugin and deleted it.
Next time I went into the add user section the standard roles where gone and only S2 member roles where visible. But i see now that these roles wasn’t created by your plugin, sorry. The problem is probably caused by the s2 member plugin that i tried before your plugin.

    Thanks:-)

    Hi mortensh,
OK. Thank you for update. Sometimes all this stuff is confusing.
Keep backup of your database all the time.

    Regards,
    Vasyl
