AdSense Widget Sidebar Installation Help Request (4 posts)

    Hello fellow WP-ers!
I'm new to blogging, FTP and WP. At http://www.mikesmullin.com, I downloaded the WP Sidebar Widgets Plugin and then the AdSense Plugin. Then I changed the permissions at my FTP server. Next, I logged into my WP account, inserted my pub ID number into the AdSense HTML. Then I clicked on the Plugin tab, where I activated both widgets, as the installation directions said to do. Then I added the site to my Google AdSense account.
Here's the problem: Step 3 in the installation instructions states, "Drag AdSense widget to your sidebar from inside WordPress (Presentation tab > Sidebar Widgets)." This is what I am struggling with, since the Presentation tab only yields "Themes" and there is nothing whatsoever about widgets on that page.
Further, step 4, "Click the configuration icon and enter your google_ad_client ID" does not exist either, since there is nothing about sidebar widgets in the Presentation tab section.
    What am I doing wrong?

Your theme needs to be compatible with WordPress Widgets. If it isn't the tab "Sidebar Widgets" won't appear under Presentation. Try downloading / selecting a different theme and trying again.

If you want to be able to add AdSense Ads to a non-widget theme, or into posts, you can use my AdSense Manager plugin instead.
