• Are there any other Adsense plug-ins other than Adsense-deluxe or Adsense Manager?? Or is there another way to put ads into a blog page?? I have both plug-ins and I haven’t had a single ad through adsense deluxe work and the problems with Adsense Manager scare me, but on the flip side of that is neither one of these programs work with referral buttons. How do I tackle this problem??
I don’t think my theme is all that tricky, it seems to be a version of Kubrick called Nikynik-orange.
    my site is TMReisinger.com
    thanks Tim

  • I never use any plugins for displaying ads.
If you are relatively comfortable editing the template files – you can insert the ad-code wherever you want.

Thank you, some one who is not afraid. Throughout all the forums that I have read people say that ad code gets a little hinky with css code and blog code in general.
so there is no problem just pasting code directly into theme files, i.e. the sidebar.

If it is done correctly (=copying the whole code, not missing the last line, for example, LOL) – it always worked for me.

On this site I have code copied into the single.php so it shows up only when you click on the permalink/title – and it is placed in the right top corner of the post…

I’m not too afraid of mucking around with code, it’s the only way that I’ll learn what not to do.
I’ll give it a try and let you know how I did.

Always have a backup copy of the modified files… (just in case 🙂

Also worth noting is that if you want to put ads in your sidebar, and you use widgets, copying and pasting the adsense code into a Text widget works perfectly well.

    thanks for the info

I was wondering what test widgets were for?? How do you paste into a text widget, is there instructions somewhere with in the WP program or a forum for that??

Note that it says “plugins” on that page, but Widgets are now built into WordPress 2.2. They’re extremely easy to use, just go to the Presentation->Widgets page and it’s pretty obvious.

Check the following posts, you may find some usefull plugins:

    1. AdSense Plugins

    2. DTWL – Best WordPress Plugins

Is there some kind of script we need to use when pasting into the post editing mode, or page edit mode? I copy & paste the AdSense code into WP 2.3.3 and they show up in the sidebars, but not in the body, page or post.

    Thanks
    Tim

Well, after experimenting some, it seems to show up sometimes and not others… also, it seems to only show up one ad per page. If I try to add two banners to a post, one of them doesn’t show, does this sound normal?
    Thanks
    Tim

    You can add:

    1. 3 Link Units
    2. 3 Text Ads
    3. 1 Referral of each product

on any page,as per AdSense policy. If you excess any of the above, the later will not display.
