    Hi

I’m trying to add some Google Adsense adverts into my RSS/Atom feeds but can’t work out where to place the relevant data. Is it possible to do? I assume that I have to add the data somewhere in the wp-rss, wp-atom and wp-rss2 files.

I’ve searched the forum but can’t seem to find any info.

    Anyone help?

    Cheers

  • why would you do that?

I know that you dont want to hear that, but why???

No-one, absolutely NO_ONE wants a fricken ad displayed in a feed, much less someone that’s given you the ultimate compliment of subscribing to your feed.

Thats just plain shitty to do to ppl that follow your site like that.

Please, before you go any further down that road, read scoble:

That’s a VERY good point whooami. I hadn’t really thought of it in that way so cheers for the reality check. That’s actually exactly what I needed to hear I guess.

    Cheers

There’s a few sites that are ripping ALL CONTENT straight from other sites’ RSS feeds, not generating their own content at all, and placing ads on these pseudo-sites. I would think that placing ads in an RSS feed might discourage the content-rippers a little. But ultimately, it’s got to be up to the advertising companies to enforce some kind of standards for original content. If it pays, people will do it. I wrote a little bit about this on my by blog: http://www.doubtingthomasblog.net/?p=414
