Support » Fixing WordPress » Adsense ads in my site that I can't remove

  • Here’s my site: http://transportationresearch.co.cc/

I have unwanted adsense ads in my desktop and mobile version of my website. They appear right in the middle of header image and at the bottom of my page. I’ve perused the forums, and can’t figure out why they are there or how I can remove them. This site is for my thesis, so I can’t have any adverts. I have recently created the website using WP 3.1.3. I am using the Twenty Ten 1.2 theme and have the following plugins installed:
    Akismet
    Gtranslate
    Wordpress Mobile Pack
    WP-Polls
    WP Forum Server
I’ve looked in my page.php and post.php files, but have found nothing that stands out. I’m new to all of this, so any help would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • A good place to start would be to turn off the plug-ins to see if the ads go away. Then, turn them back on one at a time until they reappear. You’ll then know that the last one is the culprit.

If not, then I did notice that the source of your site reveals Google Analytics belonging to freezoka.net – are they your hosts? It might actually be that they are inserting the ads.

    Hope that helps

Ahhh, yes. I see that my free webhost decided to force ads after all. I did check the plugins and they were not the culprit. Alas, the desperate search for quality free webhosting continues. Great insight, petervandoorn. I appreciate your comments.
