   What I'd like to do is place the ad that's in my sidebar, outside of my sidebar to the right. I suppose I'll have to go into the sidebar.php file?

   To better understand this, look at this, which is the way I have it now:

   Sidebar
   AD

   But I want it to look like this:

   SideBar AD

   Almost certainly - though you may have to edit other files including your theme's stylesheet to create the effect that you want.

   To place an ad to the right of your vertical sidebar would probably need a complete theme re-design. Currently there is no room on the right side.

   Same as the right. It would need a major theme redesign.

    Redesign it so that it's a 3 column theme instead of a 2 column.

    I understand CSS, XHTML, and HTML. But understand, that I only understand it, but can't really use it to make a template for example.

    Could you help me?
