   I read somewhere that ads (e.g. Google AdWords) cannot be added in WordPress. Is this true? (I haven't used WP before, but I am considering it now). Thanks

   You can use any type of advertising you want.
   There are several plugins for Adsense, and many others, or you can hard code them into a theme.
