administrator gone AWOL and we need access to our site

Our administrator has gone AWOL now for over 2 years and we cannot access our site. It is a community website where we post community historical information. We are a very small but relatively old/historic community. We have repeatedly made contacts with the past administrator who now lives far away but we get no feedback or help and we are therefor effectively locked out. cannot update or add items. We are all volunteers and struggling with this situation.

So…my question….how the heck do we get into our site and act as administrators and editors?

I am the treasurer and past president of the historical society with this website. I guess I should not post the website name here for security reasons but under the right circumstances I can divulge this to a sincere helper.
