Adminimize cannot remove Menu Options at all
-
Hi there.
First and foremost, I have to say that Adminimize is quite possibly the best WordPress plugin concept that exists (fantastic work, Frank!) However, I’ve encountered some significantly frustrating issues…
On the site that I am working on, I’m making a bicycle registry system (where users can sign up to the site using the built in WordPress system, and register their bicycles in case they are stolen). To get this to work, I’ve made a new role (bicycle_registry_user), and a custom post type (bicycle_registry). I then used the plugin “Members” to grant bicycle_registry_users capabilities for the bicycle_registry post type. Next, I wanted to remove the other extraneous options from the back-end (the top admin bar, dashboard menu link, media menu link, comments menu link, tools menu link, and another plugin menu link – vslider). So, I installed Adminimize, and started removing the menu options. This was all working fine, until I tested the user registration system again. At this time, I found that I could not register new users at all. I deactivated, and deleted Adminimize, and it worked fine, so I deduced that it was probably due to a setting that I messed up, so I reinstalled the plugin, and started the process again. This time, the new user registration worked just fine, however, when I try to remove “Menu Options” from the back end, nothing happens. I can remove some stuff (like the settings from “Global Options”), but nothing happens with the “Menu Options.”
So, I hit the forums, and found some possible fixes (1.7.14 not working in 3.0.5 or 3.1 for Admin role only). I’ve tried everything that I’ve found, and everything that I can think of, but nothing works.
