Admin versus Super Admin - does it exist? (2 posts)

    Hello,

Is it possible to have a super admin on the account who has access to all the code and passwords, and then an admin who only has access to the code, but could never change the password or limit access to the account?

To be specific, I would like to retain complete control over the site, but allow programmers to get in and modify/create code. However, I don't want to give them access to changing the admin password on my account, forever locking me out and taking control should they choose to do so. I know I'm being paranoid, but better secure than not.

If this doesn't exist, can it be included? I think it's important that the site owner retain control, but allow a level to a "programmer" category that would not have full access, but more privileges than the editor or contributor would have.

    Thanks.

The basic break down is there. If you want to customize roles, you CAN, but you need a plugin. Check the bottom of that page. Some plugins are listed to help you customize NEW roles that may help :)
