I'm a new poster to this forum, but I cannot find my specific issue addressed anywhere else. I have my own WordPress account with my own site (ianmac.ca) which works fine. I also use a separate WordPress account to update on another WordPress site (thesketchersons.com), which was working fine up until last Saturday. The site admin upped my admin privileges, so that I could make more extensive adjustments to the site. As soon as he did this, my old login stopped working. He claims that he can log in fine from his computer, but every other computer I have tried gives me the "invalid password" message. The site admin even made me a new admin account, and when I tried to use it I get the same error message. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Help would be greatly appreciated.
you likely need to dump the site cookies from the problem site and try
if still won't work try the email new password option with the cookies dumped

Hey Samuel. I've tried dumping the site cookies, and it doesn't make a difference. When I try the "e-mail new password" option, unfortunately my address isn't the one attached to this admin account, so I don't get the e-mail (I think it goes to some guy who built the site for us long ago).
you can follow this guide to see/changer your user name and password in the DB

Thanks very much for the link, but the warning:
"Note: use phpMyAdmin at your own risk. If you doubt your ability to use it, seek further advice."
...is pretty much referring to guys like me. I'm not even sure what phpMyAdmin is. Anything else I can try?
here are several methods if you're sure about user name
