Hello, I’m having a problem with my admin section. It’s being very slow to respond and load. Also and more importantly, all of my files and pages dont show up? Yet my front-end runs just fine (www.mcasuspension.com). It’s been like this for a few days now.

I have not loaded any plugins, or updated anything recently since it was working fine last.

I tried disabling plugins, it says they are disabled but has no impact on the front-end and they still work.

I tried changing back to default theme, and the same thing happened.

The error log shows no errors.

The site has been working fine for weeks before this.

    Please help.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

And why are you using an older copy of WordPress?

When i click ‘deactivate’ it thinks for about 1 minute and then refreshes the page saying it has deactivated the plugin, but below the plugin’s name in the list below it still only gives the option of ‘deactivate’ as though it hasn’t done anything. Also the plugin still works fine on the front-end.

The same thing happened when trying to switch to default theme.

Will ‘resetting the plugins folder’ lose any of my files or settings associated with my plugins?

I’m using an older version because a friend of mine helping me with this site said it can be sometimes risky to update. I think it said that sometimes it might make some plugins not work.

I’m not sure why it would change all of a sudden when i hadn’t changed anything on the site?

Ok, I reset the plugins like you said and found the problem to be one of the plugins.

    Thankyou very much.

    No problem 🙂
