i am trying to test a WP site before going live. i have a self signed cert to do this testing. i am running this wp site on IIS 7. i bind the cert to the ip, set the ‘require ssl’ flags, turn on HTTPS plugin. can never return back to admin and site never responds to https. also found out image links hardcoded to test site must be modfied either thru myPHPAdmin, or export the database, then find replace. i thought this plug in automatically changes all the image urls?

    thanks in advance

Does HTTPS work without the plugin? What happens when you access the site over HTTPS?

The plugin makes no permanent changes to WordPress. It only fixes things while it is active. Elements with absolute URL’s are automatically fixed.

… ok, user error. simple (but dumb) mistake. the test site is behind a firewall. the firewall did not allow ssl connections. modified the firewall to allow … bingo. thanks for the quick response.
