    Hello everyone,

I just upgraded to the latest version of wordpress. I did this by using the ‘instant upgrade plugin’.

It seems to have worked. The whole admin area has been upgraded. But the main page of my actual blog (www.mysite/blog) is not working. It’s simply not loading.

This is a bit strange isn’t it? What could be wrong? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    thanks a lot

Well, you need to find the problem and fix it. Seems pretty obvious, really.

Disable the plugins, switch to the default theme. These are the first few general steps. Once you have the site working that way, then you can track down where the problem is.

ok done that, still not working. 🙁

    What shall I do next?

    thanks!

I also am having the same problems, though my are unrelated to an upgrade. I posted a blog entry earlier today — everything seemed fine. I updated the number of blog entries from 3-4 on the options page and checked the box to “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” (I later unchecked the box thinking that was my problem) I went to save updates and after taking an unusually long time to update, my main pages of the blog load as totally blank. My admin panel works just fine. The “public” pages do not.

I have done a number of searches in the forum and have tried renaming my cache.php and then resetting. I have contacted my ISP, Network Solutions, to make sure they are not the problem. Network Solutions support desk suggested I re-install. That sounds daunting. I have also reset the theme to the default and made sure that no plugins were activated. I am at a loss as to what to do.

    Any help is much appreciated.

This seems to be quite a common problem. 3 people already mentioning it.

Come on, somebody must know what to do!!!

Are you getting the “Couldn’t write to: /blog/wp-content/cache/…” error? I just started getting that within the last hour, and I haven’t changed anything on my site at all today.

no, I’m just getting a page that doesn’t load. It’s trying to connect, but failing, and this firefox message is coming up:

    ———————————–
    The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

    I’m having the same problem!

I just started using WordPress for the first time. The admin pages work just fine and every time I hit the View Site link it comes up a blank screen. I tried looking at the page from a different computer, blank.

It happened even at all default settings as well as after I had made some changes.

I’ve never been able to get anything other than a blank page when I look at my blog site. I’m glad it’s not just me, but I’m hoping for a cure!

Surely someone knows how to solve this problem! WHAT’S GOING ON!!!!??!!

I’ve not had the problem you have had … however, have you tried restoring to the previous version (you did backup the database & site as suggested, didn’t you…) and then downloading the zip version, deleting the files you just restored, (bar the ones you don’t delete) & doing the upgrade that way… i.e. following the upgrade in several steps instructions…

I’m not sure from any of your answers that you tried the default theme or not.

    Please deactivate all plugins.

    Then install the default theme.

Then go to your home page and RELOAD.

Then please report back here and tell me exactly what happened. That would help me understand this issue.
