what is also weird is that the image link for the stats ( the far right button ) is broken.
This happened at the same time as the backend disappearance
Also I have emptied the cache and tried three different browsers – there is nothing on any of the pages – anyone?
Try:
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
Thanks Esmi – So that theme name is “Twenty Eleven” – just caps on the first letters?
Yes – but you don’t need to know the name. Just rename your current theme’s folder to anything you like. add -old
to its folder name if you want. WordPress will then do the rest.
Hmmm – it didn’t really like that – now both are blank so I had to switch it back – it did not look like anything automatically switched. I guess restting the plugins is next then?
actually #2 won’t work as I can’t see my admin pages…I guess it’s number three then. Could this be a problem with my hosting though ? This blog was an auto-install on dreamhost and it updates automatically – could it be them breaking stuff?
#1 works if you have an unmodified copy of the Twenty Eleven theme in wp-content/themes. If you do not have a twentyeleven folder in wp-content/themes or you modified that theme, then you need to upload a fresh copy.
#2 also does not need access to your admin area. Please see the link I gave above.
Hello again – I have upload a fresh twentyten and renamed the plugins folder and both have come up empty (literally) – I guess it’s on to #3?
#3 also does not work – still blank pages. I did a fresh manual restall of everything.
What is next?
