Is there a plugin that displays news from the admin / site-admin?
I know of the global message plugin but I was thinking about more of a "display news that the user hasn't seen" type thing.
Maybe using posts from a specific category for the news? The post titles the user hasn't seen are displayed up top and then the user can click on the items to mark them as read and read the whole post?
Is there something that already does that or does my use-a-category-as-admin-news thing sound workable?
It depends on where to show that Admin News Post, in the front end I presume since you already know about the global message to be seen in dashboard/backend. You could always create a category - Admin - in WPMU main site and post to that Category, then show that category where you want it seen, in front page for example.
