   Ok, so I log in to wordpress, and it just returns me to the login page. If I go then to the wp-admin I'm presented with another three login boxes, but it shows me as logged in (howdy myusername).

   Any ideas what the heck it's doing?

   Sounds like a browser cookie issue. Oh, never mind, I didn't read the rest of your post closely enough.

   Update - Sometimes this happens, sometimes not. Ideas?

   Was happening to me too and I was pulling my hair out in frustration. With mine the issue was ZoneAlarm. Added the url to my blog site in ZoneAlarm and now I can log in to the admin. I'm so excited now lol
