    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    Try:

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    - re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    - increasing the available memory.

    - repairing your database.

    Running into the same issue, could it be because of the Dutch names for the roles (I see 'Beheerder' instead of 'Administrator' in the database) that the upgrade script didn't automatically add the new capabilities?

  8. Certain user role and/or login modifying plugins conflicted with the upgrade from 2.x to 3.x causing all user roles to be lost when the upgrade script was run.

    If this has happened to you, access your database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this in their control panel), go to the wp_users table and find the row for your user_login . Note the ID of this row. Now, go to the wp_usermeta table and find the wp_capabilities row for your user_id . Set the value of this row to a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}
