I have just set up a new site and for some reason I can not see the admin bar when I go to view the site.
http://www.padstowselfcateringcottages.com
I have WordPress 3.3.1 installed and am using BlogoLife 2.0 theme
I know this has been a problem for lots of people and I have been through all of the forum threads I can find and have tried:
Deactivating plugins
Changing to twenty ten theme
Checking the footer and header files for the appropriate code
Installing Always view tool bar plugin
None of these are working.
The three other sites I have hosted on the same server are working perfectly.
Any ideas how I can get the toolbar to show when I view the web pages?
Many thanks
Jill
Check that you have configured the admin bar to show on the site within your profile.
Yes sorry I meant to say I have checked that too in the user profile and the box is ticked.
Do you have any other ideas?
Jill
Does the Admin bar re-appear if you switch back to Twenty Eleven?
Have you tried:
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
- re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
Thanks for that.
Yes I have deactivated all of the plugins to no avail but I have not tried the other two.
I'll give them a go.
With the re-upload do I literally just identify the files in a new download of WP and swap them with the existing ones using my FTP?
No. Delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folders and then re-upload fresh copies.
