    Hello,

I have moved my files and restore the database from old hosting company to new hosting company, after I changed the dns and start to browse the website, things went fine except the admin/menu bar in my website, where it should show home, find us, contact us, blog,..etc does not show at all.

please have a look at it @ http://www.carpet-cleaning-ottawa.ca

Are you using a custom menu or should the menu items appear on the menu bar automatically?

Do you still see all the pages in admin?

Did you change the url when you moved the site?

How did you move the site? - Did it involve backing up the database to a file and importing that to a new database in phpMyAdmin?

Yes, I received the backup from old hosting company and then I upload the database in phpMyadmin.

The answers you have given have rules out some possible ideas I had.

Its always a good idea to resave the permalinks setting after moving a site as it will create a new .htaccess file. Its a long shot - so probably won't fix the issue you have but won't do any harm either.

I can see that your site is running WordPress v3.4 which has not been out long. Did you perform the upgrade to v3.4 when the site was on the old hosting or did you only upgrade after it was moved to the new hosting?

  5. It's giving "Error establishing a database connection" now.

Thanks cubecolour, I had save again the permanlinks( but if does not work)
Reference to your question I received the database file from old hosting company and I restore it to the new database location.

I didn't expect the permalinks to fix it, but it was worth a try - its the first thing I always do after moving a site.

I gathered that about the database file being supplied by the old hosting co.

What about the upgrade to WordPress 3.4 - was that performed on the old server before the move or on the new server after the site was moved?

I am not sure if the upgrade to wordpress 3.4 done or not on the previous hosting company, how I could know?

However, I had moved another 2 domains(wordpress) with from the same old hosting co as well to this new host company(Godaddy) and both of them works good, the third one does cause the above issue of the toolbar menu.

    Appreciate your support.
    Thanks

Normally you would preform the upgrade yourself on a self-hosted WordPress site, so if that was the case you would know when it was done.

If you add a 'pages' widget to a sidebar temporarily, does the list of pages show there?

Are the other sites on WP 3.4 & using the same theme? I suspect that the issue could be with your theme - possibly the way the menu is built may be broken for WordPress v3.4. Unfortunately we can't support commercial themes here, as we have no access to the code so have no way of investigating. Consequently you should ask your theme supplier for support with this issue.

Thanks cubecolour, I think I fixed the issue. I have changed the theme it self with and old backup theme I have and it does work.

I think the issue from the theme it self.

    Thanks guys.
