Adjusting/adding content to sidebar (8 posts)

I have recently taken over the duties of updating a website built and displayed through WP. I am familiar with HTML and CSS coding, but am having trouble find WHERE to access certain elements.

I am trying to figure out how to replace the flag and text on the upper right of our home page: http://www.castleusa.com/
with holiday closure info, and place the displaced block at the bottom of the right column?

Does anyone know where I find the header and sidebar HTML? I can find code that references it, but not a page/doc to which I can add code?

    Thank you

The html is created dynamically. It is not there until you access your site.

Content of the sidebar is controlled by widgets. You can add a text widget to the bottom and then put in the code for the flag.

You can use FireBug in FF to identify elements and the css that controls them.

I tried to create a widget and then place it in the "Primary Widget Area" but it did not show up on the pages?

I can identify it, just can't find the code to control it.

What kind of widget? A text widget requires data.

You are also using a custom theme which is not supported here.

So the widgets may not work, but I know I've accessed the side bar before and changed the text below the links, do you know where I access that?
