[resolved] Adjust margins/padding on Skirmish theme (4 posts)

    Hi all,

    I have been pretty adept at changing the .css code to adjust certain areas of my child theme (Skirmish). However, I can't seem to be able to reduce the size of the left and right margins. Here is my website: http://www.splittinghairs.ca

    Any help as to where I adjust this in the style.css file would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS work.

    Hey esmi,

    Thanks a lot for this (and for such a prompt reply). I downloaded and installed Firebug and am now working in Firefox. I went to my site and can see all my code at the bottom of the screen. The word "margin" appears several times (of course, it makes sense that there are many margins). However the adjustment I have made are not visibly reflected on my actual site. I wonder if I should be adjusting the padding instead? Do you have any idea which margin will adjust the sides of my website?

    esmi,

    I adjusted the margin in this bit of code, but it only changed the left side of the screen.

    #page {
    margin: 10px auto;
    max-width: 1000px;
    overflow: hidden;

    hmmm...
