    For some strange reason(s), the plug-in adds some tags after each buttons when I choose to show it with excerpts on category pages.

    The result is the icons are not aligned anymore, they stand next to each other but on different lines.
    I'm using a custom buttons as follow :

    <div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style ">

    </div>

    Don't have any problem when they appear on single post pages, though.
    How come these tags are generated and how can I get rid of it ?

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi, I am having the same issue with the icons being staggered when using custom code. Looks like an issue with my purchased theme. The test site is located at: http://dentalimplantslasvegas.biz/

    When I switch to the default WP theme, the buttons are aligned correctly. Looks like my theme is adding "br" tags after each line. Is there some custom code or CSS I can add to my theme fix this?

    Custom Code:

    <!-- AddThis Button BEGIN -->
    <div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style addthis_32x32_style">
    <a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_google_plusone_share"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_linkedin"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_pinterest_share"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_compact"></a><a class="addthis_counter addthis_bubble_style"></a>
    </div>
    <!-- AddThis Button END -->

    I am using the latest versions of AddThis and WordPress.

    Thanks!
    Jason

    Hi, I'm having the same problem, I created the thread http://wordpress.org/support/topic/poor-interpretation-of-the-custom-markup

    As a temporary solution, I put all my custom code in a single line (inside the textarea). This way the
    tags don't appear. Of course it's terrible to have it all in a single line because it's a pain when I have to change the code.

    I hope this will get solved soon.

    @akamyself, @marudiniz, @jasonpel: We have noticed that this happens with certain themes only and might be the way they interpret tags. If any one is using a free theme and having the issue, please direct me to the theme and I can verify.

    Hi,

    I managed to fix this issue by removing the line breaks in the code and putting everything on one line:

    <div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style addthis_32x32_style"><a class="addthis_button_twitter"></a><a class="addthis_button_facebook"></a><a class="addthis_button_google_plusone_share"></a><a class="addthis_button_linkedin"></a>

    I found this answer at the AddThis support forums.
