This could be pretty cool… https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3962

Could be used to search for people within a region. Or even to search for people within a certain radius on a map…

(I guess address should include a hidden latlong field)

I think the same that is said in the ticket. It would be very complicated to create this. I believe it will be better to manually create all fields and put them in a new group of fields.
