    Hello,
    please help.
I've installed WP in a new directory "blog" (CZ version 2.8.4.)
and when trying to install, this message appeared:

address '/blog/wp-admin/install.php' was not found on this server.

    thanks

Check if the file exists in the wp-admin directory if it does,
make sure that the file has the appropriate CHMOD values and can be executed.

I just looked around and didn't see a WordPress installation at all. Verify that you have uploaded the files. Also, I didn't see a "blog" folder as well. Make sure you created the blog folder.

    yes, the file exists
I don't understand CHMOD values. what does it mean?

Those are file permissions. Here's a good explanation:

I created the directory blog in public_html/

    /public_html/blog/wp-admin

I work directly in hosting backstage, and see the files there

i changed permission to execute (744)
it doesn't work. and when I check the permission again, it is again 644, not 744

Sounds like you don't have the rights to change the rights then but 644 should be enough to use install.php

Did you upload your files to the public_html directory?

I deleted everything and uploaded again in the root directory public_html, and it is still the same :(

    here is solving:
problem was, that the htaccess didn't allow to run any other application.
I moved all WP files to the folder app/webroot/blog
    and it works
