How do I create a web form for my WP site? I have installed several plug ins but they have zero instructions on how to use the plug in once installed. I need a form for name, address, phone number, comment box, and a box to upload attachments, and I need the form information to be delivered to an email address once submitted.

After installing the plug-ins, I don't have a clue how to use it. I have read some vague instructions and I just don't understand them.

I have searched the forums for appropriate solutions to my question, however, I cannot find one with instructions that are beginner enough for me. I am used to dreamweaver and am just starting out with WP and not doing a good job navigating it yet. I am finding it very difficult.

You will need to use a suitable forms plugin and then refer to the installation & usage instructions on that plugin's download page.

I have installed 3 plug ins looking for user friendly instructions on how to use the plug in. I do not understand the usage instructions. It takes me to a web page and a place to 'download' the plug in, it does not explain how to use it in any place or unpack it or how to use it in WP. I am missing something.

I have followed the instruction you just gave several times. It is not helpful. I need more information from someone that knows, please.

There are two ways to install plugins:

    a) When logged into your WordPress site with an administrator-level account, click on the Plugins menu item, then 'Add New.' This will give you the option to search the WordPress plugin repository for plugins, and it will also give you the option to upload plugins that you already have the zip files for. Once you have chosen/uploaded/installed according to instructions on the page, you have to click 'Activate.' Once activated, you'll be able to modify the plugins settings, either in the Settings area, or in its own tab, depending where it shows up.

    b) Download the plugin file and unzip it. Access your server using an ftp program and find the /wp-content/plugins/ folder. Upload the plugin folder (unzipped) to the /plugins/ folder. Log into your WordPress dashboard and click 'Plugins.' The plugin you uploaded will be in the list of plugins on this page. Click activate.

After that, each plugin is different, so you'll have to select one based on their description and then post in that plugin's support forum if you still have questions. The link to the support forums for each individual plugin is on the plugin's page.

    What plugins did you try?

I have tried google forms, form stack, ccforms, and a couple of others. Some cost almost a $100 per month or more even though they tell you when installing that they are free. I found one that I figured out how to work...however the program will not work for me at all because I need a web form with an 'upload file' field so that people can attach pictures in gif and jpeg format. I cannot find one without downloading and activating every single one to even see if it is a capability and I have not found one yet.

Thank you, I am going to be working on those links. Thank you very much. I may have to come back and ask some more questions.

I have installed this plug in and have a basic form displayed in my site now. I am working on customizing the form. I am having trouble understanding the customization instructions, should I create a new post in the plug ins section of the forum or continue posting here?

This is an excellent plug in, thank you so much for directing me to it.

Read through the documentation for the plugin:
    http://contactform7.com/docs/

And yes, any further questions should be posted either in the plugins forum or to whatever forum/system the developer(s) prefer to use.
