   I would like to add my website url to the footer. I cannot see how to change this directly without destroying what is in the footer now.

   Please advise, thank you.

   Maybe try to add this code

   <?php echo home_url(); ?>

   Have you already looked inside the settings page of the theme? You can change the footer there without changing a single line of the dkret3 theme.
