    Hi

I'm a new user to WordPress - so would very much appreciate detailed/step-by-step instructions.

I'm running a residents association site, and they want to have a searchable list/database of trusted tradespeople.

Is there a plugin that would enable me to do this?

If so, how the hell do I plug it in?

Any downloads of plugins seem to download directly to my pc. I can see a load of files in there...is it just a case of cutting and pasting the PHP file copy...and if so where do I put it?

Sorry for the multitude of questions

Thanks in advance for any help :-)

    thanks for this.

I should state I am using the wordpress.com not org

    I'm guessing I can't add plugins to that? :-(

No, you can't use plugins on WordPress.COM and you're on the wrong forums - WordPress.COM support is here:

Here's a comparison on the differences:

Sounds like you might want to consider moving to a self-hosted site - if you need that kind of functionality.
