   I have been unable to find documentation on how to add items to the screen options. For instance, How would I add categories to pages editor. Categories shows on one site but none of the others.

   On the top of the page (top right) there's a grey box "screen options".

   Is that what you need?

   In reading my post it is obvious that I am unclear. I apologize. Under screen option tab a window pops up with "show on screen". It contains different check boxes in for instance "posts" and "pages" In the post one on one of my sites it has a check box for categories. I would like to be able to make that same box appear on "pages" I've read George Plumley's WordPress but it sort of glosses over the subject.

   You can't. Pages don't have categories.

   Okay. Let's forget about pages as I can also make them a post and assign them to a category as a work around. How do I add any other little box items I might want to show up in screen options?

   I am having the same problem. The Categories option doesn't show up on my screen options for my pages. I have 3 pages that will show blog posts, but I want each to show only a specific category of posts (Which I have done on other wordpress sites) but for some reason I'm missing a bunch of screen options.
