   How would I show categories inside my admin panel so that I don't have to go to posts, select the parent category and click filter.

   Any way I can show the categories or just the parent categories right there in the left admin panel.

   Say I have categories for my blog:
   Indian Food
   Chineese Food
   Italian Food

   Could I have these categories listed where I have marked red in this image:

   So that I can click right on it to see the posts in that category?

   Yes you can filter by category but not as you are picturing it.

   At the top of the list of posts page is a pulldown that says View All Categories. Set that pulldown to the category you want to see the posts and click the Filter button to its right.
