Adding "outside" pages (3 posts)

I (finally) made some headway on uploading a new theme. Now, I want to add additional pages. When I click on "About" or any other page I've added, I get errors like "page does not exist" - which I more or less understand.

In idiot-proof language, how do I go about adding additional pages to my blog? I think the biggest problem I'm having overall is that I just don't know php. I'm an html girl : )

    Any advice?

That's a permalink problem. Go into WP Admin → Options → Permalinks, and change the permalink structure to the very top option (which will turn them off).

If you want to use permalinks, you have some setting up to do, you can't just enable them and expect it to work.

I will give it a try and come back with an update. Thanks for the help.
