   My blog is hosted by 1and1.com. I am pretty happy with it.

   There are four "plug-ins" installed, but I don't see an "add new" under the Plu-in tab as some plug-in installations recommend. Other "plug-ins" ask that I copy code into the WordPress plug-in directories and I don't seea way ofdoing that either.

   Is it that my version of WordPress is old (I've only hadit for 6 months) or that the theme I chose willnot support additional plug-ins ??

   Please help.

   version 2.2.1 is so old it's scary
   you must upgrade as this is a huge security risk
   you will need to do it incrementally
   2.2.1 -> 2.4 -> 2.6 -> 2.7 -> 2.9
   cam auto update from dashboard after that
